Looking forward

Thank you for all for your  thoughtful comments. Traveling state side in a weeks time for the funeral, looking forward to seeing my sisters, brothers, nephews, uncles, aunts and parents.

Recently the Mr and I walked down to this restaurant(Lupanara) in Birgu, it is literally built into a cave, along the backside of Fort St. Angelo, which dates back to the Phoenician period. Was a nice evening, and sitting out near the water we managed to catch a wee whisper of a breeze (the heat has been a little overwhelming these last weeks).
**Side note. Am reading a book called the Sword and the Scimitar which describes the period when this area was a thriving hub of activity (1560's) - a good read if you like history and are at all interested in Malta.

  1. Nice to have you back online. Lovely places! Dinner must have been a delight. Many kisses to all! Enjoy your family across the pond...

  2. That's the Lupanara... we were going to originally have our wedding there actually. Great place, new owners now though so that's why we changed venues. It looks great though, haven't been to see what its like now. Great atmosphere!

  3. Juniper, safe travels and warm thoughts for you and your family as you travel.

Thanks for the tip on the book as I am quite interested in Malta and its history.

Oh, and .... "The Wife ALWAYS knows...." That race clip played her in the states for about a week on the news. Too funny that there were different owners and that the horses were not related -- hah!

  4. so sorry for your loss dear juniper. sending you a big hug.
    safe travels:)

  5. I hope the jounrey will bring you a measure of comfort. Safe travels.

  6. I'm sorry about your Gram. Wishing you safe travels. Take care--Kate

  7. Safe travels and I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible!

    C x

  8. I love that book... couldn't put it down x

  9. I'm reading this great book in german right now (Asha, Sohn von Malta) as I am travelling to Malta this November. Great blog and interesting for me as a tunisian living in Germany.

  10. It's a great location for a restaurant. I go often to the restaurants on the Marina but have never ventured that far in - always end up at Don Berto eating their lovely Parma pizza. Must try Lupanara though. Have been doing up a place behind the Inquisitor's Palace in Vittoriosa so have been spending a lot of time there.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment, I always enjoy reading them.
