On a dull (but hot) September morning at 'nannas' we found the children in their 'airplane' luggage in tow, heading off to Eng-e-land we were told. Children are so universally blessed with the ability to 'repurpose' just about anything and everything, a skill I wonder if we too easily lose as we grow and 'mature' .

lovely re-purposed! I heard the Temple story, now I remember reading about her in "An Anthropologist on Mars" I read many years ago. A definite book recommendation. Yes, like Jane glad to have BBC4 and NPR through i-tunes, keeps us all sane and in touch! Have a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteYou are right children are so able to repurpose! I 'd like to have some sun here. Nice cv!
ReplyDeleteI just wrote it to Jane, it's amazing how children always find other stuff to do with things.
ReplyDeleteWhat child needs new toys when they have boxes and imagination. Great CV.
ReplyDeleteDream and imagine again ... a good definition !
ReplyDeleteSo true!! just this week my son was using my pegs to build a tower and a garage for his cars. Plus ho many times the sofa cushions are turned into an aeroplane or a car or a house!!
ReplyDeleteYou are right and I wonder when the point starts that we loose this ability - it is so sad!
ReplyDeleteha! would love to still be able to do that.
ReplyDeletesod common sense, conventions and rules, let's repurpose the whole wide world like children do. now.
Yes, I love how children can take things and make treasures out of them. Lovely Blog!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty cool how creative children can be! I remember the boxes, I can't really fit in them much anymore, but it was good while it lasted.
ReplyDeleteBoxes and children.....a perfect combination.
ReplyDeleteAnd how nice to have Malta on our Corner View! A lifetime ago I lived on Gozo and a piece of my heart and soul is still somewhere on that island. Looking forward to read your posts about Malta. As soon as I´m back from my stay in Holland I will be back here to read your blog from the beginning.
Have a great week, Jeannette
Oh to possess the imagination of children - that's so fun. Thanks for sharing your Corner View today, and glad that you joined the group. Cheers ~ Conny
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting, because this repurposing or "reimagining" skill that children have is apparently learned through interaction with adults and other children - not just any interaction, but a healthy sort of interaction. Children coming from orphanages have to be taught to imagine things. It is not in them. It's actually part of the therapy that institutionalized children get (or should get) after being adopted. It's sad and fascinating. Q learned quite quickly, though it took her a year to start really doing it naturally.
ReplyDeleteChildren have the best imaginations and are natural at repurposing. I like how they used the box :^)
ReplyDeleteI love the name of your blog - I just finished making myself a tuna sandwich with capers and olives!
Juniper you really do take wonderful photos of your life in Malta. I just wanted to say that I really enjoy reading your blog and seeing your uploaded photos :o)
