23 March 2010

With visitors and a very nasty stomach bug making its way through the family (only my husband and the middle child left standing). I am  going to have to bow out of this weeks corner view.

I am however  including a wee response to the lovely Carmel Carmelo's  tree post,
a little spring tree I saw recently here on the island. Sadly I do not know its name.

There is something so tender and pure about a young flowering tree,
not so unlike the sweet flutterings and joy of first love.

Breath
by J. Daniel Beaudry
Tree, gather up my thoughts
like the clouds in your branches.
Draw up my soul
like the waters in your root.

In the arteries of your trunk
bring me together.
Through your leaves
breathe out the sky.

I would like to pass on of love and trees de l'amour et des arbres
to Maia of Un Envie del sel .

  2. Thank you Kenza and Loree, am venturing a bit of milk in a cup of tea today and perhaps a piece of toast. Luckily little D and Mr. T seem recovered at last.

  4. S'il est un bel arbre, c'est bien celui-ci, beau en toutes saisons... Une arbre de Judée... si mes yeux ne me font pas défaut. Excellent choix pour illustrer l'amour !

Tu peux voir qu'il en existe plusieurs espèces :

  6. Sorry to hear you have also been sick. Hoping everyone feels better soon. Guess it is a good thing we didn't try to meet up this week! I am pretty sure that tree is a red bud tree...or in the same family. Lovely little poem. Happy Spring!

  7. Thank you! I love this idea and will gladly accept! I love your delicately flowering tree...I hope that we will have some of those in our area soon too. As soon as last night's blizzard melts, that is! We got a foot of heavy, blanketing snow overnight! That's Colorado for you!
